Home staging goes beyond just placing furniture in a room — it breathes life into a property, helping potential buyers experience the atmosphere of the space and imagine the flow of daily life. This approach not only adds warmth and functionality to the property but also reduces the time and resources needed for potential buyers or tenants to make it feel like home.
Recently, one of our projects involved a minimalistic, 300-square-metre villa inspired by the clean lines of modernist architecture. With striking geometric forms, contrasting materials, and a monochromatic exterior, the property was designed to catch the eye. Our goal was to harmonise this bold architecture with a soft, Mediterranean-inspired interior, evoking a sense of calm and elegance that resonates with our client's love for warm climates.
The villa's high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and expansive rooms provided an excellent foundation for the interior design. To maintain the spacious feel, we selected furniture in subtle, neutral tones. The focal point of the living room is the Flow sofa in an L-shaped configuration, its modular design perfectly scaling to the grandeur of the space.
Our team incorporated dark accents that tied back to the villa's exterior materials to add depth and character. A shelving unit and dining table from the Contempo series by Swiss designer David Girelli were chosen to anchor the room, providing contrast against the soft colour palette. Sculptural coffee tables and curated decor pieces added an artistic touch, while the Naomi armchair, with its unique cylindrical headrest and sleek lines, introduced a modernist flair to the setting.
In the dining area, warm tones bring a touch of softness to the design. Caramel-upholstered Naomi chairs, a walnut-stained Arc sideboard, and golden drawer pulls on the Bridge console add subtle layers of warmth. These details enhance the inviting atmosphere, seamlessly blending style and functionality.
Working with existing architectural elements is a crucial aspect of staging, especially in bedrooms and other intimate spaces. In this villa's master bedroom, the layout naturally guided us towards selecting the Double bed, which fits perfectly between two fixed pendant lights, establishing balance within the room. Instead of traditional nightstands, we opted for two distinct tables, avoiding visual clutter and allowing the statement headboard to remain the focal point.
To further enhance the Mediterranean vibe, we added an eclectic touch through textures and materials, including the Contempo dresser with subtle Oriental influences and a soft Indian rug with a diamond pattern. The Tie console, with its textile-draped drawers, adds yet another layer of texture, creating a rich and inviting sanctuary.
Natural elements play a vital role in this home's design, emphasising airiness and light. Olive trees in various rooms — bathroom, bedroom, and dining area — infuse the space with a connection to nature, adding a touch of tranquillity and grounding energy to the interiors.
