Taormina in Haze Sandy: Out of the Haze, Into the Garden

Taormina already had a devoted following in its original green. Now, in Haze Sandy, it becomes something else: softer, more luminous, and perhaps even more considered. Here is what changes – and what stays exactly the same.

When Taormina launched, it did so in a deep, confident green. The collection, designed by Laure Grezard with art direction from James Patterson, struck a balance that is genuinely difficult to achieve outdoors: structured without being rigid, comfortable without sacrificing form. The green colourway suited the brief perfectly: it brought an even deeper sense of nature into the outdoor space, keeping a terrace or garden lush and vivid through every season. Haze Sandy takes the same design and gives it an entirely different temperament.

It is the rope work that gives Taormina its character – structured, rhythmic, impossible to overlook

    Same Form, New Feeling

This is a version of Taormina for those who want their outdoor space to feel like a continuation of the interior – unhurried, refined, gently luminous. The sand-toned frame dissolves into pale stone, bleached timber, and sun-washed render rather than contrasting with them. The result is a terrace that feels more open, more airy, more quietly elegant. Where the green version adds vivid life to a garden, Haze Sandy adds light.

    In the Rope Work

The design itself deserves a closer look in this colourway. Grezard trained in both France and England, and her background in graphic design and weaving is visible in every piece: the structured rhythm of the rope detailing across the backs of the chairs and sofa, the clean architectural profile of the frames, the way each piece reads as both functional object and considered form.

At 220 cm, the Taormina Dining Table holds its own whether it is set for two on a quiet morning or a full family gathering on a Saturday evening

In Haze Sandy, these details become more prominent rather than less – without the contrast of a bold frame colour, the eye settles on the craftsmanship itself. The rope pattern, the proportions, the quiet precision of the cushion placement. It is a collection that rewards slowing down.

    Built for the Elements

Do not let the gentle palette mislead you. Taormina in Haze Sandy is built to the same exacting standard as the original. The powder-coated aluminium frame is UV-resistant and requires nothing beyond an occasional wipe-down. The anti-UV synthetic ropes hold their form and colour in direct sun.

The Lounge Armchair is deep enough to settle into properly – cushioned, enveloping, in no rush to let you go

The cushions are upholstered in 100% Olefin outdoor fabric – sun- and water-resistant by nature. The Quick-Dry Foam filling resists mildew and dries quickly after rain. The Sun Lounger's cushion detaches via a zip when not in use. In short: everything that made Taormina a practical choice remains entirely intact.

    Everything Outside Needs

The Taormina range in Haze Sandy includes a 3-Seater Outdoor Sofa, Lounge Armchair, Dining Armchair, Sun Lounger, Coffee Table, and Dining Table available in 220 cm. Each piece works independently, and the full set composes a coherent outdoor room. The rope detailing on the back of the chairs and sofa, visible from every angle, gives the range its character: as Grezard intended, it is a design that rewards being looked at from all sides.
